The Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC) is a distinct initiative birthed by the Trauma Care International Foundation of the Healing School of Pastor Chris. Its aim is to provide healthcare based relief to communities and disaster areas, which creates an avenue to spread the love and compassion of Jesus to the sick in many countries.
The recently held Inaugural Conference of the Volunteer Medical Corps was a global online gathering of medical personnel from over 60 countries, and it was a time to inspire and position the participants to make more global impact. Those who logged in for the Christ Embassy based Conference were super excited to learn how to use the medical profession as a tool to win their world for Jesus Christ.
The Senior Executive Officer of the VMC, Pastor (Dr) Jumoke Akisanya, gave an opening remark in which she expressed that it was their global mandate to provide prompt medical services to people who are in dire need in crisis regions all over the world. She further spoke that they must reach out to lend a helping hand, and give those they come across the greatest prize of all: the gospel of Jesus Christ and His all encompassing salvation.
The Conference was a lively session, with talk shows on Medical Missions: responding to humanitarian crisis and regions of disasters with medicine and the Gospel, Medical Emergencies: Medical Preparedness for Ministry programs and on Hospital Outreaches. The panellists also shared personal testimonies of impact recorded and souls won.
To conclude the Conference, Pastor (Dr) Jumoke expounded that the VMC is a collaboration of medicine and ministry. She highlighted the role of every Christian medical personnel to their world, she stated that, aside from treating them medically, they need to give them something of eternal value. She continued by saying they were the answer to the cry of humanity for help, and urge those present not to let those in need perish but reach out to them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
